English: More Than a Language

Hi "Namaste Uncle", "Hi Mamaji", familiar with these words? Probably yes. This kind of usability is goes with any typical delhite. English from it's roots in India is reserved as a status symbol for being literate and well mannered. However with its expansion and the differences created among people with unbalanced usability of this international language, has left the present with many confusions and conflicts. As I have mentioned earlier due to adoption of the english language as a status symbol its facing a broad expansion populating among the population. Almost all people in a urban city like New Delhi can talk in english or at least understand. It's good to see people talking in english and supporting a common lingual platform. But then where the problem lies? As I have said that almost all people understand english it doesn't mean that the language is being used in a proper manner. Incorrect grammar, vulgar pronunciations an on the paper the most common spelling mistakes. And as we all know that there is an on going remix trend so we have a enligh-hindi khichadi to swallow. After a life span of 17 years should have been used to such a mixxy language. But some times it irritates a lot. Lets take an example from my school class. We are a group of 40+ students and I can assure you that only 6-8 can have a proper conversation in english language. How's this ratio? Now shift to another side. Few others are from the great delhi remix band. As usual our popular english-hindi remix trend. In this the 'WH' family is very popular. Throwing "who", "when", "why" and eating the rest of the sentences is a habit here. The question arises here is why to show off that you know how to speak in english? And if you really have interest in the language then get some proper lessons and than output it in a proper and nice manner. I would like to put a request to such beings that please stop showing off your english Remix talent and learn things properly. And there is no harm in talking in Hindi a better option. Language is a precious process which grows and expand making with generations. We are setting the base, therefore, it should be a strong one for the simplicity of our up coming generations and at present for us. Please notify about grammar mistakes as I'm an alien to this language. enjoy :) and make your environment more suitable for living.

Orkut: Crazy or Addictive

Kicking off the outdoors popular social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace, orkut has achieved its crown among the Indians. At least in our city, New Delhi. Orkut has become a huge crazy place for the youth to spend their time chatting, sharing their pictures, videos and teasing and competing each other with lots of cool applications which has been introduced by the Orkut Team few months ago. A two to three hours of experience feels like a few minutes lap. No don't blame the Orkut it's the craze.

I have a guy in my friendlist. He don't like to study(school), or endulge in other activities. He just sits on his computer playing with the differenty features on the Orkut. He gotta so familiar and handy with them that he can do a wonderful profile work with text. His this talent is limited to Orkut only. Now is this the Orkut's so called craze or his laziness? No going to extent more about him after all we are talking about Orkut.

So what's that which attracts us towards the Orkut? Is it its population? being easy accessible to its users or just its a social networking site. I don't have answers for the first two but I'm sure that the third one isn't true. We have other social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace etc but they aren't popular as the Orkut. And there are others too which decalared them totaly Indian social networks. But the Orkut like fever isn't on any other.

More population equals to more mess, issues and problems. With recent cases of kidnapping in which the victim got familiar to the culprits through Orkut and some other same kind of cases sometimes the portal attracts some dark eyes.

It's usual to know about cases of fake profiles and spamming. It doesn't harms the Orkut craze at a big but hurts the vistims emotionally and may be financially too.

Apart from the dark holes we have lots of advantages. Freeky people from different area are coming together forming their unique groups in their respective interests such as forming a music band, a bikers club. Even couples are getting engadged through the Orkut. We have users from minor ages to 90+ years old. The all youth is Online OnOrkut.

If you don't have an account on Orkut yet then kick you butt and wake up. Sign up now!
